Good quality red. Very, very good quality. A 3/4 dark garnet in the glass. In the nose there is a small citrus note tucked in between the blackberry, currant, some cassis, smokey oak and good bodied spice. On the tongue this is more than medium but less than full bodied. The syrah/mourvedre blend has the spices jacked up - pepper, especially, with shinning acidity. The fruit turns dark cherry and currant with the tannins gripping enough to pull to the end. A slight dark chocolate layer is evident at the end. Will sit for another 2-3 years in the cellar. See the comments in the events for Sth African wine conclusions. Paul

bjwdad Just wondering if the label means "Broken horse hoof." Sheesh!! ;)

rckr1951 Close - it's actually Broken house roof" spoken with a cleft palate and a lisp at the same time. I can't talk now anyway - I'd have to drive, I'm to drunk to walk.

moose Did you know that Afrikaans and Dutch are closely related to the Frisian-type dialects that English is based on.... ok, I'll shut up! But that's why names like this nearly correspond - even if you're drunk!

rckr1951 Yeah I did. Just foolin' around. The Wolftrap and the remaining Goat-Roati were having their way with me last night and I couldn't pronounce it sober anyway.

moose Have you seen the 'Bored Doe' yet? I don't think there's a law suit on that one yet.
