Review for Leione 2006

Red wine produced by Dominio DosTares in BIERZO, Spain

Deep color to this wine that takes a bit to open up. Cocoa, and clove notes along with a bit of gingerbread and lots of vanilla. There is a fruit note to it, though not strong and overpowered by the wood. In the mouth it's gentle with a nice acidity and medium tannins, though the finish is pure barrel. Some nice spice and cherry notes, but not enough to deal with the toasted oak. :(
