Appearance: medium gold. Nose: lovely nose of savoury citrus fruit (lemon) with green olive, delicate French oak, nuts. Palate: very good fruit, lively medium-high acidity, balanced medium-high alcohol, very good length. Conclusion: Bourgogne Blanc does not get much better than this. Very, very good indeed. Henri Boillot does not favour batonnage (the stirring of the lees which increases yeasty aromas) preferring to keep purity of fruit flavour with gentle oaking. Drink now through 2010.
