Appearance: medium purple-red, clear rim. Nose: red fruits (strawberry and red cherry), coconut and vanilla and slight chutney smell (characteristic of American oak). Attractive. Palate: pleasant light fruits, but this is medium-bodied, good oak, low-medium chewy tannins, good length. Alcohol not too high here. Conclusion: representative Rioja. Not sure if this is Joven or Crianza or a blend, but there has been some oak-ageing here for sure. Well-made. January 4, 2008
