  Definitely in need of air and time to open, this is a tight drum out of the bottle. While in the mouth it is a bit more friendly to start with nice pure fruit to it, and a fright zingy acidity. Really quite nice how the body is balanced by the acidity and the sprinkling of tannins with lightly show on the finish. Not sure how this would do aging, but for now it's a wine that nice in it's richness and lack of heavy finish. Dark cherries, some light spice and a hint of wood. Well done.

  On the nose, this wine is much like my pocketbook by the end of the holidays, resilient against my pleas to open and show me its treasures. In the mouth, it perks up with bright acidity, lovely medium firm tannins and enough dark red fruit and spice to pair beautifully with dark meat. Unlike its younger brother, a casual fellow, this one is deserving of formal attire, but more in the line of pin stripes and fedoras. Hip, with a sassy edge, it's a great little wine.

  Deep, dark red in colour quite bright. Decanting is better as the wine is young. The nose starts off with subtle fresh and ripe fruit, with liquorice, spice, and cacao. There is a bit of subtle oaky goodness as well, coffee and drinking chocolate with some more time. The mouth feel velvety, very fresh with very soft tannins, a nice texture builds as the wine sees more air. More dark fruit flavours with liquorice, a sprinkle of pepper and spice, with a wee bit of minerals and rocks. The finish is long enough, nicely enhanced with some more minerals and tannin. Hmmm....
