Appearance: medium gold colour with classy mousse. Nose: pronounced autolytic nose of attractive yeasty and bready aromas combined with restrained citrus fruit and some delicate white peach notes. Palate: lovely, integrated high acidity here in what is a very elegant palate. Mellowed citrus fruit with complex autolytic aromas and great length. Conclusion: this wine is a blend of roughly half-and-half Chardonnay/Pinot Noir (with no Pinot Meunier in the mix). Henriot does age its wines considerably over the minimum ageing requirements on the lees in Champagne and this shows. Classy, delicate and very good. Rating depends partly on how long this stylish NV has been kept post-bottling. more September 27, 2008
