Appearance: dark purple-red, clear rim.
Nose: very attractive dark black fruit nose including black cherry and prune (some Mourvedre here perhaps?), warm nose but not too hot for what is a mega-warm vintage.
Palate: lovely fruit concentration, ripe chewy tannins with medium acidity and high alcohol (although you wouldn’t guess it’s actually 15.5%!). Very good length too.
Conclusion: extremely high quality Chateauneuf.
