Review for Robert Mondavi Merlot, Napa 2005

Red wine produced by Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley, United States
  • 17,5 (in 20) by edwardragg Wine Blogger

Appearance: medium purple-red, slight orange rim. Nose: attractive, ripe plummy fruit (mixture of red and black plums) with lovely oak. Palate: abundant fruit (but not over-extracted by any means), chewy medium tannins, just beginning to show some secondary flavours that were not apparent on the nose: slight leather, mocha etc. Alcohol is well-integrated. Conclusion: very attractive Merlot with strong varietal character. Drink now to 2010.
