Deep dark red in color with a nose that is exotic. Red meat, cardomon, gingerbread, mint, and pepper all mingle with red berries. Firm tannins in the mouth that with time open up nicely. The wine though is odd in that it has a component that reminds me of Oloroso sherry, but in no way do I feel the wine itself is oxidized. Overripe raspberry and some caramel notes, make this a pleasant enough wine to enjoy with roasted meats.
