Note for Encosta do Sobral Reserva 2004

Deep dark red in color. The nose shows a dark fruit profile of raspberry, cherry, chocolate, and smoke aromas. In a previous tasting I picked up a lot more floral notes, including violets and purer berries and I chalk this up to time open. Firm and thick in the mouth with a need to open up and even age for 2-4 more years in bottle. Asian spices, combine with dark fruits to make this wine mysterious and probably a good pairing for spicy ribs, or steak au poivre. August 20, 2007 | Link to this note
