Lots and lots of bright fruit, with red berries and plums most obvious. Generous fresh spice is laid over this, and the wine is as sweet and approachable as I remember the 2005 being, which was the last vintage I tried. I just wish I could access the other two C de C syrah varietals, especially the 'Incognito' - they sound wonderful. This is very good at £11 - but maybe a bit less of a bargain than the 2005 was.

scott You got me curious about trying their Syrah. Any ideas on how this one might age?

moose Try it, Scott. It's a sweet dry red, if you know what I mean, but has genuine quality. It drinks like it will do a couple more years with maybe some improvement. I think the vineyard suggest 6 years maximum.
