My first experience of this grape and what a rewarding one. This may not be one of the great wines of the world but with it's profusion of red and black fruit flavours and long dryness (reminds me a bit of the general effect that Tannat has) it's a very enjoyable wine which suggests that there is more to Austrian reds than I had previously thought. It's reasonably priced in the UK at least, and worth keeping an eye out for. It should suit a wide range of savoury foods too, I think.
