I am interested that this Minervois red has clearly smoothed out and matured in the two years since 2010 when it was quite widely reviewed in the UK(but not by me). The purply red colour gives off a spicy red fruit aroma, but the fruit in the mouth is black - blackberries and dark plum, also spiced and with a wrap of leather and silk. It has lots of depth without being particularly complex, and is very good value for £6.99 (on sale). I had to buy six to gget the discount, but I'm glad I did. Good with all sorts of meat and tomato-based food - especially if cheese is involved. Would go well with a burger!

scott it's always a good thing when a wine goes well with a burger!

rckr1951 Ditto here. I was weened on hamburgers. I've been a big Popeye fan ever since.

rckr1951 I swear that I just read this review a couple of days ago...or is this duja vey? You know that feeling that you've never done any of this before.

moose I've got six bottles, but I've only had one so far! Maybe I'm just repeating the same terms - I do surely love the wines of Minervois!

rckr1951 Don't blame you there, I think I had my 1st really good one about 10 years ago. I think that I probably get one to 2 a year. I've noticed the quality is more consistent across - is that your take on this also?
