Review for Chateau Coutet, Sauternes 2005

edwardragg Wine Blogger November 29, 2008
Appearance: medium to darkish gold. Nose: distinctly honeyed first nose with richer fruit than on the Climens and lovely botrytis. Oak is subtle. Palate: rich palate in a weightier style than on either the Climens or Rayne Vigneau from the same vintage. But there’s lovely acidity propping up the rich fruit and botrytis here. Very well-balanced and with captivating length. Conclusion: Coutet is very dependable and 2005 is no exception. This will be excellent from 2015.
