I always have some sherry in although we don't drink much really. This one is new to me and reasonably priced at £11. I was very pleased with the well-balanced mix of raisins and hazelnuts and the way the required sweetness was lush and full without swamping the salty layer or some natural dryness of flavour. Just right for the traditional job of acccompanying olives and the like before a meal, which is the traditional British way to drink sherry, I think, borrowed from Spain, of course, but common in English houses, especially around Christmas.

moose It's traditional to supply sherry for any visiting carol singers - although we don't get visited by any here. so we drink the sherry ourselves! I know that sherry deserves more time and attention than I ever give it, but there are so many wines I want to try, I never get round to it.
