Appearance: dark purple-red Nose: red and black fruit first nose (plum, cherry, in both colours) and quite perfumed too. Largely fruit-driven at present. Palate: very appealing, immensely fruity palate with lots of plum fruit (perhaps unusual for Cabernet-Shiraz blends, but this is the lighter style of Koonunga Hill) and a subtle tannic structure (grainy tannins), nice acidity and pretty good balance throughout. Conclusion: good. A classic year in South Australia. Lovely to drink now but will obviously age well, even until 2016, depending on preference. September 24, 2008 | Link to this note
