Dark red juice in the glass. Pleasant notes of blackberry, dark cherry and earthiness float up. The fruit followed though faded at the end. Rounded tannins, spice and good acidtity finished off the palate. Good with food. Glen

85% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. I had a glass of this wine at a restaurant, so I'm not sure how long has the bottle been open. It is clear, light purple color with cherry, blackberry and spices on the nose. Medium bodied, dry, with round tannins and a smooth texture. Flavors of sour cherry and earthy notes, trademark of the Sangiovese grape, mingle with dark berries, black pepper, dried herbs, and are well balanced by a touch of acidity. Sent to me by friend Paul :), 12.5% alcohol. Sangiovese 85%, Cabernet Sauvignon 15%. Medium reddish-purple in the glass. I took a sniff soon after decanting it, and was taken aback by a significant red wine vinegar aroma. It had lessened after an hour, and was gone by 2 1/2. Still, a bit troubling. It's now been well over 4 hours, so here goes. Dusty, earthy notes with cassis, plum, burnt caramel, and faint whiffs of chocolate & cotton candy. Nice berry juice up front on the palate, light and refined character. Tannins and acidity carry the mid-palate, along with a hint of pepper. Medium linger with a return of cotton candy. This wine does not overwhelm; in fact, it's delicate and understated. It's tough to get over the first impression, but I'm trying!

A medium ruby in the glass. This was sleek and refined...and young. Earthy notes with blackberry and currant and mild spice on the nose. A small amount, just a tad, of mocha. The cabby firms it up, but this was juicy and medium bodied the fruit carrying through and smooth rounded tannins got just a little kick of acidity at the end to finish it off. Good wine to lead off the wine tasting.
