Red wine produced by Penfolds in South Australia, Australia

Appearance: medium to dark purple-red, slight orange rim. Nose: savoury dark fruits, later a spicier nose (white pepper, cumin). Palate: more austere on the palate than the 1986 vintage but with more fruit than the 86. Quite pronounced tannic structure with pleasant fruit, lifting acidity and quite good length. Conclusion: relatively austere compared with the 1986 and can still age. This wine is still holding up well. Drink now to 2010.   September 24, 2008 | Link to this note
