God I love wines that I want to eat before drinking. There's something strangely satisfying about having all senses enveloped by a simple liquid, inert without a dash of passion and an ounce of quality. This wine is meaty, juicy, spicy and exciting on the nose, brimming with character and personality. In the mouth, the wine shows more of its dark fruit edge with great acidity and a lush herbal finish. I see this wine with roast duck or lasagna.

Red meat nose with a handful of wildberries ground into it. Primal richness and raw attitude. Wow, neat nose. In the mouth this is full of lush raspberry flavors mixed with cooked cherries, and cassia. Rustic fruit that does not run to the herbal but shows fruit in a non-candi-esque kiddie way. Pure and layered, full of interesting character. Nice wine, but make sure to pair with some nice pork or roasted portabellas.
