Nice nose with dark fruits, minerals and spice, a full aroma. In the mouth this wine has good fruit, fine tannins that are soft and approachable and a mild acidity that none the less keeps the wine fresh. Needs about a half hour to really open up. Rich prune aromas float out of the glass followed by anise and touch of black pepper. But in the mouth, the black pepper takes center stage by enveloping my entire mouth in almost a black pepper essence that never braces the tongue, but merely floats ever so gently across the palate. The tannins are silky and present, but not overwhelming like a Monet that initially catches your attention but slowly fades into your surrounding environment. I like the elegance and sultry nature of the wine. And yet, although it's presence is capturing, it doesn't suffocate you or push you away. October 8, 2008 | This review is Useful (1) | Comment
