Appearance: Brilliant black cherry with hints of violet at the rim of the glass. Elegant minimalist label on bottle was also admired. Nose: Lots there, blackberry and other forest fruits, vanilla. Palate: Silky, with a gentle acidity that leads to more earthy tastes (a hint of tree-bark someone said — in a good way, I think) and rounded tannins.
