Review for Tyrrell’s Vat 1 Semillon, Hunter Valley 2005

    From the Landmark Tutorial Day 3 (22nd Sept 2010), ‘Semillon’ presented by Andrew Thomas. Appearance: medium green-gold. Nose: quite restrained, mineral and lime fruit. More restrained than the 2006 Vat 1, certainly. Palate: very restrained lime fruit with a chalky flavour and high acidity. Seems well-balanced but is very young. Conclusion: seems younger than the 2006 (even though the 2006 was a cooler year). Needs time, to be sure. Will show better with age.
