Beautiful reddish brown color with a nose that is full of wood and polish. Hazelnuts, varnish, and caramely sawdust. Intense and big. In the mouth the wine is fully sweet with a full body and lots of nutty richness. Alcohol is a factor, and warms as it goes down, but the intense rich caramel and nut flavors balance it will with a good acid streak down the middle. Think, toffee with a sweet cherry core, that is hidden behind a brittle candy shell. Really a rich and delicious treat. May 27, 2008 | | Comment
