From the Landmark Tutorial Day 3 (22nd Sept 2010), ‘Semillon’ presented by Andrew Thomas. Appearance: medium to deep gold. Nose: lovely nose of developing ripe lemon citrus fruit – no lime here again, as you might get on a Hunter example – toast, honey, spicy quince. Palate: more full-bodied and with slightly higher alcohol than the classic Hunter style. Lovely fruit – quince, lemon, pear – with bright medium-high to high acid and good to very good length. Conclusion: although this is developing well and can be enjoyed now, I would still age this further because it is so fascinating and suggests further development (the Margaret Semillon is justifiably one of the most famous examples of age-worthy Barossa Semillon). To 2015.
