Appearance: light-medium red-purple. Nose: bright strawberry and red plum fruit, only a touch of oak. Immediately appealing. Palate: low-medium coating tannins, medium acidity, medium to medium-high alcohol, lovely fruit and good length. Conclusion: an approachable Ribera made from 5-15 year old vines and only seeing 4 months of oak, this is a clever wine to offer the market when waiting for Emilio Moro’s larger scale Ribera. Drink now or up to 2011.
