  Appearance: medium red-purple. Nose: perhaps a little closed at present with a touch of Grenache’s white pepper character, but also an underbelly of darker Syrah and Mourvedre fruit with noticeable oak. Palate: quite large tannic structure (medium-high chewy but also grainy tannins), medium acidity and robust high alcohol with good length. Conclusion: not quite on form. This bottle was a little closed, I think. Drink from 2010.
