Appearance: medium gold with attractive, delicate mousse. Nose: delicate mineral first nose (reminiscent of high quality Chablis) followed by autolytic aromas (grilled toast in this case) and delicate lemon fruit. Palate: beautiful high acidity that is really well integrated here with good length and a complex profile of flavours: minerals, citrus fruits, toast etc. Conclusion: it is quite rare to find non-vintage Blanc de Blancs wines from a well-known Champagne house. This is very well-made and kept on improving in the glass. Chardonnay's aggressive acidity (at least in Champagne where it's very tough to ripen) is well-tempered in this wine with lovely fruit and considerable ageing on the lees. Very good.
