I really like this wine....but it's not a great representation of syrah. BIG tannins (even after 2 hours in the decanter), relatively big fruit, noticable tobacco notes, sour cherry, cassis, and a touch of raisin. Not at all in the French style...tastes VERY Chilean, if you're familiar. I'll look for this one again.

rckr1951 I've liked Montes wines for several years. Chile has a terrier all it's own. Montes, Concha y Toro, Casa LaPostelle all good.
