Review for Chateau La Tour Blanche, Sauternes 2005

edwardragg Wine Blogger November 29, 2008
Appearance: medium gold. Nose: very honeyed first nose – as La Tour Blanche often shows – with overt botrytis (which should integrate very well in the future). Palate: a rich palate, well-balanced in terms of sugar v. acid v. alcohol; and the botrytis is not overblown either. Good length. Conclusion: certainly 2005 is a rich vintage with some wines needing possibly longer than the 2004s to show well when young. However, La Tour Blanche will come through with shining colours. This is very good. Try from 2015.
