edwardragg has reviewed the Richebourg, A. F. Gros 1997 /20
Appearance: fading red colour with slightly orange rim. Nose: mellowed raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant fruit with definite sous bois and mushroomy nose, but hugely perfumed all-round with developed aromas combining oak and Pinot Noir in this expression. Palate: immensely elegant on the palate with fine acidity, softened slightly chewy tannins and balanced alcohol. Very long. Conclusion: at a classic phase for drinking and the kind of Burgundy you normally only dream about (our thanks to James Simpson MW for providing the bottle!). Beautiful and we couldn’t get enough of it really! Was drinking well in late 2006, but should still be in good shape.
