Trader Joe's purchase, $14.99, 13% alcohol. Not in my usual bottom-feeding price point, but I had a gift card... :) Lovely pale yellow-gold. On the nose, grapefruit, lime, tropical fruit, rain-washed granite, grass, faint green pepper. Palate dominated by juicy pineapple and tangy pink grapefruit. Lip-smacking acidity, nice sweet/tart linger. Outstanding and delicious!

rckr1951 Your review scored the wine the same as Steve's though for some reason there is a 93 on your's when you call up the wine. KC does this stuff brilliantly year in and year out.

Damn near the perfect white wine. The 2008 vintage has a strong flavour of wet stone to add to its grapefruit, lime and grass tones. I actually think the wet stone flavour is a little too strong. This wine would have got a much higher rating had this been reined in a bit more. Still, a consistently brilliant effort from my favourite producer of the Marlborough style Sauvignon Blancs.

bjwdad Sounds fantastic! I haven't tried any Kim Crawford wines, due to the price (guess I'm "cheaper" than you...:) but I will now when we get home to the bigger city.

rckr1951 Dear Mr. CD - I've enjoyed the KC Sauvignon Blanc for years also. Interestingly his Sauvignon Blancs rate in the Wine Spectator top 100 of the year for at least the last 3 years running that I know of. I'm not a big fan of his Pinot Noir thought, way to much bite. Good to see you here again though. Paul
