Appearance: attractive light red-purple. Nose: bright red cherry fruit on the first nose, slight white pepper, no especial evidence of new oak. Palate: pleasant medium-high acidity, good fruit, light-medium chewy tannins, well-balanced high alcohol, good length. Conclusion: fruit sourced from the Soda Canyon Ranch, there’s a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon (6%) here which will add a little structure. This is an easy-drinking, immensely food-friendly Sangiovese-blend that should be drunk now. (Although there’s not much evidence of oak on the nose, about 3% of the wine is exposed to new French oak).
