From the Landmark Tutorial Day 3 (22nd Sept 2010), ‘Semillon’ presented by Andrew Thomas. Appearance: light to medium green-gold. Nose: more pear than apple fruit on the first nose, with suggestion of quince or lemon peel. Enticing. Later some new oak influence appears. Palate: palate is more savoury than the nose – oak influence – with decent fruit, lifting high acidity, more alcohol here than on a Hunter example, good length. Conclusion: fascinating style (not everyday you get to taste Clare Semillon). Should age pretty well (to 2014 at least).
