From the Landmark Tutorial (23rd Sept 2010, Yarra Valley), ‘Single Vineyards and Sacred Sites vs. Blending’ presented by Brian Walsh. Appearance: very dark purple. Nose: very perfumed intense black cherry and blueberry fruit with well-integrated oak. Young. Palate: lovely black and blueberry fruits on the palate with high coating tannins, lifting medium to medium-high acidity and balanced relatively high alcohol. Lots of length too. Conclusion: Andrew Thomas makes gorgeous Semillons and also a range of Shiraz wines of very high quality (some multi-regional). This has lovely purity of fruit, can be enjoyed now, but will surely repay cellaring to 2017 and beyond.
