This is a ruby red youjng Cabernet which is meant to be drunk young and smells of bright, vibrant red and black berry fruits, suggesting that expectations should be focused on immediate simple fruit effects, and nothing too complex. The wine is smooth and quite sweet in a chocolatey sense, full-bodied and completed by some blunt herby spiciness (although it is sweet fruit which remains the key feature). Very good entry-level Cab which only claims a life of three years - but it seems absolutely ready right now to me. It avoids any hint of fuit juice by having enough tannin evidence to feel worked on and genuinely 'made' wine.

bjwdad Excellent descriptors for entry level. No sign of it here.
