Review for Carmen Reserve Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Red wine produced by Vina Carmen in , Chile
  • 17.5 (in 20) by edwardragg Wine Blogger

Appearance: dark purple-red. Nose: very attractive bright berry fruits (blackberry with even some red fruits), lovely oak, some cool climate black pepper from the Syrah too. Palate: generous palate with lovely fruit, refreshing medium acidity, ripe chewy tannins, nice oak and good length. Conclusion: spends twelve months in a mixture of French and American oak which has integrated with the fruit here really well (all Maipo fruit). Very drinkable. Drink now to 2010, perhaps longer.
