  Appearance: deep purple to ink black. Nose: elegant, restrained if very ripe black fruits with a distinct perfumed quality and sweet spices derived from the interaction with high-quality oak (cinnamon, cardamom etc.). Later some leather and cigar-box aromas, even in such a young wine (again, this is the oak matching very well with abundant, elegant fruit). Palate: lovely palate showing medium to medium-high acidity, gorgeous fruit (there is nothing jammy here, but superbly ripe fruit), superb coating high tannins and great length. Conclusion: this is obviously a superb example of what Napa Cabernet can achieve. OK, the wine is $135, but given some wineries’ pricing...  more
