From the Landmark Tutorial Day 3 (22nd Sept 2010), ‘Semillon’ presented by Andrew Thomas. Appearance: light to medium green-gold. Nose: quite mineral, savoury first nose, lemon citrus fruit, quite restrained. Later an oak dimension appears. Palate: fruit is more overt and zestier on the palate than on the nose with refreshing high acidity, medium alcohol and good to very good length. Conclusion: nice to see a Semillon dominated example from the Margaret River – at least not labelled Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc or vice versa and a different style with some new oak influence. This will also age very well.
