Deep purplish/red in the glass. On the nose blackberries, plums, blueberry pepper and a hint of menthol. The palate had a nice variety of friuts and spice. With blueberries, currents, pepper and spice on the med palate but, lacking a finish. This wine was a bit tannic and acidity was less them moderate. Normally this wine is more balanced and very enjoyable. Drink now.

Ok, so I try to avoid all "gimmicky" wine, but a friend who also avoids "gimmicky" wines brought over a bottle, and I must say that I enjoyed this alot! The nose is a fantastic... black licorice, some cherry, a little leather. This wine drinks silky smooth, with a juicy cranberry/cherry flavour. Nice subdued tannins and only a little heat work well. 14.5% alcohol.
