Green pepper, with some dark red fruit and red meat. In the mouth the tannins are firm and thick with a high acidity. Cassis, and dark chocolate come to mind on a wine that is tight and still could develop in bottle a couple more years.   October 1, 2008  |   | Comment

Deep purple in color with a nose that show's black pepper, meat, chocolate, and bing cherries. Very astringent at first and needed about 2 hours to really open up. At that point the oak became a bit more dominant than we would have liked. Flavors of chocolate, black raspberry, mint and some pepper notes make for an intense wine. Rich and full of depth. I have to say this wine is perfect for a pot roast in the middle of winter. 3.5/5   August 21, 2007  |   | Comment

Syrah, Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Alicante Bouchet with 13.7% alcohol. Dark rich maroon color bursting with aromas of black cherry, licorice and black olives. Fine silky tannins with medium acidity. Shows tons of spice and chocolate. Great wine! 4.0   July 30, 2007  |   | Comment

Syrah, Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Alicante Bouchet with 13.7% alcohol. Inky dark crimson, almost purple black, showing delicious aromas of cocao, black licorice, and exotic dark spices. Silky mouthfeel reminding me of eating chocolate rose petals on a bed of lavender and violets. Good solid structure with fine tannins and medium acidity. 4.0   August 21, 2007  |   | Comment
