Appearance: deep purple red with orange rim. Nose: toasted oak nose (the wine spent eighteen months in French [80%] and American [20%] oak) but backed by intense plummy fruit. Palate: gripping tannins and nice acidity – all of the Nk’ Mip wines seems to have really good acid - and quite good length. Conclusion: this wine was actually less impressive than the excellent entry-level 2005 Merlot. 2004 was apparently a hotter year in the Okanagan than 2005. Still good, however. Drink now to 2009.
