Rich nose with lot's of earthy loaminess, ground in chocolate, tobacco touches, and a wafting thread of blue, something, fruit, flowers, or simply a blue note. In tense, but draws you in to discover more. In the mouth that blue note is there, sitting on a piles of loose minerals, staring at you through a firm acidity, and fine yet tame tannins. This is a modern wine, without the jam, packed tight and full of character. Ready for a piece of grilled meat, though something lighter, more reflective. Would like to set this bottle aside for about 5 years and see what happens. Really quite nice.
