From the Landmark Tutorial Day 3 (22nd Sept 2010), ‘Semillon’ presented by Andrew Thomas. Appearance: light green-gold. Nose: restrained but still intense brooding lime fruit with a touch of green pear. Later, quite mineral. Very young. Palate: elegant fruit with some richness to the palate, a beautiful line of high acidity emerging with classic moderate alcohol and very good length. Conclusion: a baby. Will be superb with appropriate ageing (to 2030 no problem). Hunter Valley Semillon doesn’t get much better than this.
