How can I not be complimentary about this wine seeing as how I have met Ryan the winemaker and tasted his wines with him? I AM going to be complimentary about it anyway but it is because I like it and think it's well made. Very dark and brooding in colour with the aroma of red fruits and some peppery spice. Although the palate is very peppery - this is a shiraz after all - it's not at the expense of the raspberries and strawberries that are there to be appreciated. Good acidity and well integrated tannins go to make up a balanced and well made wine.

I make this wine so I'm really biased. But it's delicious. It's a pepper bomb. Explosive and very aromatic. The body is smooth and actually a little "maigre" compared to the nose. But I mean that in a good way because I drink it all the time. Gary Vaynerchuck just told me the exact same thing. "There is a surprising amount of black pepper" for a pure Syrah. This is a deliciously weird Syrah.
