From the Landmark Tutorial Day 3 (22nd Sept 2010), ‘Semillon’ presented by Andrew Thomas. Appearance: medium to deep gold. Nose: complex, savoury, toasty nose with core of lemon citrus and slight lime fruit (moving away from its primary fruit flavours for sure). Palate: very complex savoury and lingering citrus fruit flavours, lovely acidity, very well-knit. Quite tight still, however. Conclusion: the Lovedale vineyard was planted in the mid-1940s by Maurice O’Shea (the Maurice O’Shea Shiraz made in his honour is terrific). This wine will go on and on in terms of ageability. Very impressive. Best from 2015 onwards.
