Appearance: darkish purple-red, essentially clear rim. Nose: intense red and even black cherry fruit – this has the extracted quality of many of the late Mortet’s wines. Good oak. Very attractive purity of fruit here. Palate: lots of structure here with bright acidity, pleasant medium chewy tannins, lovely fruit and very good length. Conclusion: very good indeed. Would be best drinking through 2010-14. August 16, 2008
