Intriguing, there is a driven cork in the bottle, not a T-stopper, atypical for your run of the mill Ruby Port wine. The nose shows penetrating aromas of plum, coffee, black cherry and blackberry with an undercurrent of spice box. It reminds of the aroma I'd encounter while first stepping into a tea shop I visited in Minnesota that prided itself on their fruit and spice teas. It's intoxicating and soothing. The palate, however, doesn't entirely mimic the nose, showing more cedar, cooked plum, red cherry and just a touch of molasses on the moderate finish.
