Appearance: attractive green-gold colour. Nose: delicate, but ripe gooseberry and passion fruit nose (later some tangerine). Very varietally pure, but not too racy an expression. Ripe, but restrained. Palate: excellent fruit, lively acidity (which is very well-integrated with the fruit here) and considerable length. Conclusion: this is a great example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (sourced from estate and bought-in fruit), with characteristic ripeness but subtly expressed (none of that ‘sherbet’ nose too ripe Sauvignon Blanc can often have). Drink now (although it’s notable this kind of level of Marlborough Sauvignon can survive well in bottle in the short term).  more
