Deep Syrah. Oaky and fruity nose. Dark and very concentrated on the glass. Full-bodied and rich on the palate, with a nice texture, gripping tannins and a strong spicy/peppery side to it.

Easy drinking Languedoc chardonnay, dry and well-balanced with good acidity. Good value.

Quite the light red - both on the glass, with a very pale and translucent ruby hue, and on the palate, with quite a light body. It was the first time I tried an Old Vine Cinsault mono-varietal (apparently it's not very common either), and it was a nice experience. Restrained aroma, more on the fruity side (think cherries, red berries). Discreet on the palate as well, with a fruity flavor that takes its time to open up. Good value!

The Spitting Spider 2010 is a Syrah - or Shiraz, in this case - blended with a little bit or Merlot (2.5%, from what I read). The result is a full bodied, juicy and fruity wine that is very soft and well balanced. Very pleasant and lengthy dark fruit aftertaste. Very fun, easy drinking and quite delicious Syrah. I assume recommended pairings revolve around meat - for me, it was an excellent companion to a mushroom risotto. Good value, will definitely get another bottle or two.

Unmistakeable vionier: soft, dry, low acidity and very fruity. Pronounced aroma, with ripe peaches. Not a remarkable viognier, yet a good wine.
