bjwdad I presume "Special" in this case generally means "Late?" That's what your review would indicate, and it sounds good!

ryanreichert Yes - I'm inclined to think so!

bjwdad I don't much go for sweet wines, but Late Harvest Riesling is an exception.

Clear, medium intensity straw yellow with hints of green; Clean aromas, medium-soft intensity - a little citrus, lots of pear, sliced apple, delicate floral, fresh pistachio (very slight), and a little oxidation; Dry, medium-light body, medium acidity that gives way to a more rounded texture, medium alcohol; medium intense flavors of lime, unripe peach, a little pineapple, green apple, and that same floral note from the nose. Medium finish. A nice wine, refreshing, perhaps just a little over the hill. Pair with creamy cheese and herbs as an aperitif.

Clear, medium-light intensity gold; Clean, medium-low aromatics (for a Sauvignon Blanc), tropical (pineapple), stone fruit (peach, apricot), citrus (lime, orange), minerality, fresh grass, pungent floral; Dry, medium-light body, medium alcohol, medium-low to low acidity, medium-low intensity flavors of tropical fruit (more pineapple), stone fruit (soft peach), citrus (lemon, zest, pith), light grassiness, bitter floral ... mimics nose well. Medium-short to short finish ... this and acidity are disappointing. Drinkable, but I've had better at similar or +$2-3 price range.

Clear, medium to medium-deep intensity ruby red with some purple; Clean aromas, medium-low to medium intensity, raspberry jam, dried herbs, grass, wet clay, an animal note?; Dry, medium-low acidity (flabby), medium tannin, medium body, medium alcohol (that seems out of balance), medium intensity flavors; red fruit, some wood, bitter fruit skin, a strange milky texture. Drinkable but unappealing and boring.
